"I couldn't say the words out loud, so I wrote my parents a letter and left it on the kitchen table before I went to school. I was terrified all day. When I got home, my mom just hugged me and said she loved me no matter what. I cried so much."

"Accidentally outed myself"
"I was talking about a celebrity crush and accidentally said 'she's so hot' in front of my friends. Everyone went quiet for a second, and then my best friend just said 'Agreed' and we all laughed. It was way less of a big deal than I thought."

"It took time"
